Details of Rejuvenation & Immunity Booster

Ayurveda has two principal objectives – the first one is to maintain optimum health and the second is to heal the disease from the root. Ayurvedic Rejuvenation & immunity booster programme is designed in such a holistic way that it suits every individual’s requirement.

Nowadays, life has become unbearably fast, that not affects an individual externally but also leads to an internal imbalance. This imbalance in the human body makes an individual victim to numerous lifestyle maladies. Adding on, several factors such as poor diet, seasonal imbalances, emotions, and bad eating habits, etc further deteriorate the situation. So, to overcome these situations and retain the health, rejuvenation, and immunity booster programme of Ayurveda has been developed.

Immunity, as people understand, is the function of certain cells, enzymes, and immunomodulatory chemicals that attack pathogens and prevent them from creating diseases. Ayurveda Rasayana remedies are known for immune-enhancing, anti-aging & neuro-nutrient. The Ayurveda rejuvenation & immunity booster programme provides a boost to the metabolism of the body,  immune systems, digestive system, create a richer ojas system,  and recharge the energy levels to make an individual feel great inside, and mitigates the risk of incurring numerous diseases.

    Science

The immune system is an individual’s body’s defense against the infections and the other harmful invaders. Without strong immunity power, one would regularly get sick due to the presence of viruses and bacteria in the body. It is made up of special cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body from germs. When the immune system doesn't work as it should, the disorder is called an immune system disorder. The cause of a weak immune system in the body is:

    • Primary immune deficiency: Born with a weak immune system.
    • Acquired immune deficiency: Suffer from a disease that weakens the immune system.
    • Factors that act negatively on immunity such as an Imbalanced diet, Excessive alcohol intake, Irregular sleep, Obesity, Dehydration, Chronic medication, High stress, etc…
    • Have an immune system that is too active. This may happen with an allergic reaction.
    • Autoimmune disease: The immune system that turns against an individual.
    • Immune system also gets weak due to the use of some certain medication or therapy such as chemotherapy or other medicines used to treat cancer. The immune also gets weak after organ transplants.
    • It also gets weak for short time due to infections such as the flu virus, mononucleosis, and measles.
    • Lack of sleep and not taking enough protein in diet also weaken the immune system.
    • Aging also weakens the immune system.

The body’s immune system works around the clock to keep the body protected from invading organisms and other environmental forces. It is a constant guardian to protect the body from various infectious diseases, debilitating diseases, and also reduces the risk of death. Therefore, it’s important for survival.

Signs of a weak immune system are:

    • Frequent cold & infections
    • Autoimmune diseases
    • Delayed growth & development
    • Blood disorders
    • Skin rashes
    • Digestive system problem
    • Organ inflammation and related issues
    • Constant fatigue
    • Slow healing of wounds

If an individual faces any of the above problems then rejuvenation of the body through natural ways is a must in order to boost immunity & take control of well-being.

Ayurveda is the biggest contributor to mankind for human longevity and wellbeing in the most natural possible way. Ayurveda can help rejuvenate the body & boost immunity in the best possible organic way with the help of authentic medication, dedicated therapy, and massages.

First, the holistic assessment of the health is done in which the Vaidya looks at the whole picture of the health and try to achieve a full understanding of the body. During the assessment, Vaidya determines what treatment plan will best suit the patient according to the individual unique requirements. Then, the treatment course starts followed by therapies, herbal oil massages, steam therapy, herbal medications, wholesome and well-balanced cuisines, Yoga & meditation session, fitness session along with other therapeutic cleansing techniques to revitalize the body, get rid of impurities and fatigue, enhance the stamina, balance the dosha and bring harmony to mind and soul.

In Ayurveda, the diagnosis procedures are two-pronged. One aims to establish the state and type of pathology and the second decides the mode of treatment. It is done through a holistic assessment of health. The Vaidya will look at the whole picture of the patient's health and try to achieve full understanding. They observe, palpate, and interrogate with the patients. The Vaidya determines the doshas or body constitution, the health of Dhatus (tissues), the strength of digestive fire, immunity, and as well as mental harmony. This involves asking extensive questions on the topic like lifestyle, diet, personal and professional life, medical history, and any current problems. While knowing the constitution of the body, the Vaidya determines which of the doshas are most likely to be in excess and which therapies and treatment plan will best suit the patient.

Risk factors are factors that do not seem to be a direct cause of any diseases but seem to be associated in any way. A risk factor for a weak immune system makes the chance of getting a condition higher to weaken the immune system; however, it doesn’t always develop weak immunity in the body. Autoimmune disorders affect people of all genders, races, and ages, but certain people have an increased risk of developing autoimmune disorders. Some common risk factors are:

    • Gender: Women are at higher risk to develop an autoimmune disorder. It's not fully clear why women are more susceptible to autoimmunity, but some researchers speculate that enhanced immune systems of women make them more vulnerable to autoimmune disorders. Hormones could also be a factor.
    • Aging: It also weakens the immune system as with the age, some organs that produce white blood cells get shrink and fewer of them produce white blood cells.
    • Ethnicity: African American, American Indian, or Latino people are more likely to develop autoimmune disorders.
    • Family history: Various studies have shown that the tendency to develop autoimmune disorders is inherited. If a family member of an individual has autoimmune disorders, chances of getting the same disorder are higher.
    • Exposure to environmental agents: Certain things in the environment may increase the risk of developing autoimmune disorders. For example, exposure to some medications such as procainamide or hydrolyzing and certain metals such as mercury, gold, or silver. However, there is no clear scientific evidence of this factor.
    • Previous infection: Genetically susceptible people who have had certain bacterial and viral infections may be at risk to develop autoimmune disorders.

Different factors are responsible for weak immune system in our body. Some basic steps are needed to follow in day-to-day life to keep the immune system stronger. These are:

    • Avoid caffeine, smoking, alcohol, sugar, grains, dairy products, and focus on fruits, vegetables, healthy fats and fish
    • Use Tulsi, Pippali (fruit of long pepper) and ginger tea to strengthen, and cleanse the upper respiratory tract
    • Use turmeric and black pepper in the meals daily, to boost immunity and reduce ama (toxins).
    • Reduce intake of red meat and avoid usage of processed meats like bacon, sausage, nuggets, ham, etc
    • Drink juice of Amla daily
    • Drink an adequate amount of warm water as it will keep hydrated and the throat and mucous membrane moist, supporting its action as a good barrier to all microbes.
    • Maintain good hygiene such as wash hand frequently
    • Do physical exercise regularly
    • Get enough sleep for at least 07 hrs
    • Try to minimize stress and anxiety
    • Maintain a healthy weight

What is the ayurvedic viewpoint of structure and function of body?

The universe and the human body are made up of five basic elements collectively known as Panch Mahabhootas.  These five elements are Aakash (Ether/Sky), Vayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Aapa (Water) & Prithvi (Earth). The sixth mandatory component of life is Atma (Life spirit) without which life winds up. The human body is made up of Doshas (Bio humor), Dhatus (Body matrix), and malas (excretable product).

Vata, Pitta, and Kapha called Tridoshas are physiological entities of the body that are responsible to carry out all the functions of the body. Dhatus are the structural entities of the body. Rasa (Plasma), Rakta (Blood cells), Mamsa (Muscular tissue), Meda (fatty tissue), Majja (Bone marrow), Asthi (Bone tissue) and Shukra (Hormonal & other secretions) are the Dhatus.  The unwanted or waste products of the body which are excretable produced in the body as by-products of metabolism. These products are known as malas which include sweda (sweat), pureesh (faeces), & mutra (urine). All the biotransformation within the body occurs through body channels (Srotases) which are the sites for the action of Agni.

Ayurveda follows therapeutic measures either to prevent the disease or cure them. Ayurvedic procedures are done either to detoxify the body or as a prelude to strengthen the immune system.

Why one should go for Ayurveda treatment?

The history of Ayurveda is 5000 years old.  At present, globally this medicinal system has been adopted. Ayurveda and its treatment techniques have been proven very effective in many clinical studies. Ayurveda does not aim only to treat the sick person but also focuses to prevent illness in healthy people. Modern medicine tries to treat and remove the condition rather than treating the patient suffering from it.  Ayurveda makes a special contribution by addressing the uniqueness of each patient and helping the body to heal itself.

Why are most ayurvedic treatments time consuming?

Toxins that accumulate in the human body take a long time to manifest, as, in some diseases, the human body and mind get somewhat habituated to them. Removal of these at one go is practically impossible as it would also go against the wisdom of the body according to which the immune system works.

This is why ayurvedic treatments are time-consuming.

Does Ayurvedic medicines have any side effects?

Ayurvedic medicines are made from natural ingredients such as herbs and minerals under the supervision of expert Vaidyas. If it is taken according to the instructions of Vaidya, these medicines are safe and don’t have side effects. However, just taking the medicines is not enough as one needs to follow a proper diet and lifestyle to control the condition and works towards healing.

If not followed properly, then it may develop some problems and you can think it as side effects of medicines but in reality, it is caused due to fault in diet and lifestyle.

Is Ayurvedic treatment effective to rejuvenate and boost the immunity?

Yes, Ayurveda is very effective to rejuvenate and boost the immunity in most natural and healthy way without use of any chemicals, processed food and extreme diets. Ayurveda focuses on body type and lifestyle for weight loss.
